Welcome to Marrow Match™. There is a desperate need for bone marrow donors to save the lives of people suffering from leukemia and other life-threatening illnesses. Sadly, 70% of patients in need of a marrow transplant will not find a viable match within their own family. Instead, they will join the thousands who search the national registry each day in hopes of finding a match.
Only 1 in 20,000 of these patients will be successful.
Minority and mixed-heritage patients have a more difficult time finding a donor match. Donor match is based on similar racial, ethnic and heritage backgrounds (not on blood type.)
Latino and Hispanic patients represent only 9% of the total potential donors in the registry;
Black or African Americans represent about 7% of the registry;
Asians represent 7% (combining South Asian, Chinese, Korean, Pilipino, Japanese, Vietnamese to reach seven percent);
Multi-racial patients represent 3% of the donor registry;
American Indian and Alaskan Native patients combine to make-up about 1% of the national registry.
Marrow Match™ is a non-profit organization devoted to growing
the Be The Match Registry.
We provide education and raise awareness
about the need for viable, dedicated and ethnically diverse donors. Our
volunteers help to save the lives of those in need of a marrow
transplant by investing their resources, devoting their time
and joining the national marrow registry.

It is unacceptable that a person in need of a bone marrow
transplant will die because they cannot find their match." Jason Cox, Founder & President,
